Want To Know God Better? Find The Answer Here.

Books are a primary way of understanding a subject. Math, English, Science, Medicine, Theology, and Economics all start with a book introducing the concepts, theories, principles, and laws that pertain to that subject.

So how do we learn about God? Is it any different than any other subject? How do we really get to know God?

There are two primary ways God reveals himself to us: through his creation and through his word – the Bible.

Like anyone who you want to get to know, you have to spend time with him. God is no different. In order to know who he is, what he has done, is doing, and will do you have to spend time with him by reading his autobiography – the Bible.

He reveals the exact nature of his character, his promises, and his plan for the world and for you. When you make reading the Bible as a part of your lifestyle, you will get to know God as well as your best friend. As your relationship with him develops, he will pour more and more of himself into your heart and mind.

He will give you insight for living that will shape the way you live your life. You will become simple and wise at the same time … and many of the problems you face like the ones below will slowly begin fading away because you are applying his answers that work 100% of the time to life’s most significant issues.

Imagine living a way where these questions no longer squeeze the life out of you:

Is life bringing more trouble than you think you can handle?

Are your relationships with loved ones strained?

Are you miserable in your job?

Are you in the midst of a financial tsumani?

Are lacking a purpose and direction in your life?

Is your lifestyle from the past weighing like an albatross around your neck?

Are you trapped in addictions?

Are you tired and beat down and searching for truth?

All of these and more are answered in the Bible. By reading it consistently, you will be frequently reminded on how living the way God prescribes will solve every issue you face.

To be clear, though the Bible is the guidebook for living, it never promises that we will be free of trials, issues, or problems. Rather, it tells how we ought to respond to those things.

One of the things that we have been conditioned to believe, with good reason, is that if something sounds too good to be true, than it is. So believing all of this stuff could be difficult for some of us. Yet, many times there are exceptions to the rules. This is one of them.

The Bible is unlike any book that has been ever written. It is perfect in every way … so perfect it is able to rightly diagnosis the intentions of our hearts (Hebrews 4:12-13), revives our souls, (Psalm 19:7-9) and to leads us down paths that will keep us out of trouble (Psalm 119:1-3).

Read it. Read it well and allow him to shape your life and give you insight for living.

You might wonder, where do I start? Many find a reading plan that helps them read through the entire Bible in a year or two. Here is a good place to start. This site provides several different plans … and you can even download them into your calendar.

But often the greatest suggestions come from those who read it on a regular basis. So, if you read the Bible on a regular basis please share with us how you do it.
