What Disneyland Can Teach Christians
Written by David Zook

We took our boys to Disneyland for three days last week during their fall bmickeyreak.  It was my first time.   During the three days there and walking through thousands upon thousands of people, I only saw one heated argument and two kids throwing fits … ours was one of them.  Simply amazing.

That got me to thinking, why were thousands of people so relaxed and well behaved … was it Disney or the people?  Well, as I looked around there was a healthy cross section of people … rich, poor, white, Hispanic, Asian, black, male, female, young, old and everything in between were walking around being courteous and many had smiles on their faces.

Women: Here's the Key to Gaining Affection From Your Husband
Written by David Zook

This is huge for a man. If you want to keep your husband’s eyes on you and not a another woman, then the first step is to respect your husband.

Men need respect as women need love. The easiest way to get a man’s attention is to take an interest in who is then believe in him. The dirty little secret is that men have a difficult time living without a woman.

Think about Adam and Eve for a moment. Adam told God that out of all the creatures that God just created, there was not a help-mate suitable for him so God created one … from Adam. Adam’s reaction: Whoaaaaa! At last! I will call her woman because she came from man. (Genesis 2:23)

Men have an intrinsic need for women. The woman who respects him for who he is and what he does will get his attention … married or not. Scripture points out: “…and let the wife see that she respects her husband.” (Ephesians 5:33 ESV)

It seems this is the way many affairs get started. The husband is not getting the respect he needs at home (often times unbeknownst to him) and another woman begins to respect him in ways his wife is not.

6 Keys To Being Faithful
Written by David Zook

When you think of faithfulness what comes to mind?  The first thing that comes to my mind are dogs.  They believe you, remain loyal to you in your darkest hour, trust you, love you no matter what, honor you, and the are always there.  They never ever think of leaving your side despite the times you not as faithful or loving to them.  These are the qualities I admire because I am not like that most of the time.  It seems to me that this unwavering faithfulness causes us to fall in love with them.

They are a great earthly example of the way that God is faithful to us.  God loves us, remains loyal in our darkest hour, honors and never leaves us despite not being as faithful to him.  As we struggle with what it means to be faithful, let us remind ourselves the six keys to faithfulness:

C'mon, Gimme A Break Man. I NEED It!

The poll question is the very definition of mercy ... and one of the most difficult things to discern.  How Mercymany times have you passed a panhandler without giving?  They all seem to be in great need, yet many of us make judgments and pass on giving.

What if we were panhandlers and God drove by and decided not give?  Where would be?

One of the cool things about God is that as we draw closer to God and he pours more of himself into us, there will come a point when we start reflecting many of God's attributes, including his mercy. As we see how undeserving we are in times of great need and how God meets where we are, we experience his mercy.

Some get a sense of mercy when they throw themselves at the mercy of the court. They have been convicted of a crime, know that they are undeserving of escaping punishment, and are in great need of relief. Before the judge, they plead with him to reduce or waive the sentence. They are at the judge's mercy.

Likewise, a child is at his/her parent's mercy when they get caught red handed doing something that they are not suppose to do, then the child pleads and cajoles begging for the parent's mercy.

Helping with Heartache: Are You One of God's Cardiologists?
Written by David Zook

Cardiologists help fix people’s hearts. In many respects that’s what Christians do … not the physical heart of course, but the spiritual heart. There are many people walking the streets today whose spiritual hearts have been severely damaged. Some are bleeding, while others are blocked from the emotional and spiritual wounds suffered.

The good news is that God knows exactly what is going on inside those hearts and offers a prescription that will heal them from their pain. As one of God’s cardiologists, you can offer your loved one or friend guidance as you recognize their heart’s need for healing.

The Bible speaks to every part of our life – our pain, relationships, doubt, anxiety, money, sex, and much more. God wrote it to reveal his will to us and to give us guidance in the day-to-day decisions of our daily lives.

One of the natural ways of sharing the gospel is through someone’s need.
