Do you share the Gospel with love to others?

Did someone share the Gospel with you before you trusted Christ? You may have heard the Gospel or read it, but somehow, someway you got the information before being convicted to trust Him. Sharing the Gospel is the means God uses to deliver his Good News…and God uses you as his instrument to deliver it.

“For ‘everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.’ How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, ‘How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!" (Romans 10:13-15)

What "The Biggest Loser" Can Teach Christians

I am not big on all the reality T.V. shows, but there are a couple that have caught my attention.  One is “The Biggest Loser” because it gives hope to the hopeless.images

Many of the contestants before the show have just given up on life.  They have tried every diet under the sun, yet they continue to fail to reach their goal.  By routinely being discouraged and disappointed, they lose all hope that their lives will ever change.

The layers of guilt, shame, and embarrassment add to their emptiness as they know that they cannot change their lives themselves.

The personal trainers on the show, Bob and Jillian, rescue them from their hopelessness and push them to crazy depths for them to be transformed.  As they see the results of their weight loss, they believe, many for the first time in their adult life, that they can be restored to a healthy self-image and weight.

Here is what Christians can learn:

Leave this One to the Holy Spirit: Convicting Others of Sin

Prosecuting attorneys prosecute. They analyze gathered evidence; they tell law enforcement what type of evidence they need in order to strengthen their case; then they bring charges against the accused.

Their job is to convict the accused of their wrongdoing before a judge and a jury.

As Christians look through the lens of the Bible, we observe the way others live their lives; make judgments based on those observations; and determine that person doesn’t have Christ in his live and needs to be saved.

We think man, if they would only trust Christ and live according to Him, their lives would be more in sync.

Helping with Heartache: Are You One of God's Cardiologists?

Cardiologists help fix people’s hearts. In many respects that’s what Christians do … not the physical heart of course, but the spiritual heart. There are many people walking the streets today whose spiritual hearts have been severely damaged. Some are bleeding, while others are blocked from the emotional and spiritual wounds suffered.

The good news is that God knows exactly what is going on inside those hearts and offers a prescription that will heal them from their pain. As one of God’s cardiologists, you can offer your loved one or friend guidance as you recognize their heart’s need for healing.

The Bible speaks to every part of our life – our pain, relationships, doubt, anxiety, money, sex, and much more. God wrote it to reveal his will to us and to give us guidance in the day-to-day decisions of our daily lives.

One of the natural ways of sharing the gospel is through someone’s need.

Being God's Mailmen, Not Salesmen

About 10 years ago, my wife and I had dinner with a friend of mine. She was going through some transitions in her life and was taking some classes. One of the men in her class got to know her fairly well and he told her that it was his mission to convince her to trust Christ before the end of the semester.

Throughout the semester he kept continually presenting the Gospel in different ways and pressing her for a decision. Well, many of you can imagine the result of that relationship.

When the topic of what the future held for us came up and I told my friend that I was going into vocational ministry, she told me not to try to convince her about Christ and then launched into the above story.
